Google's Generative AI Key is a game-changer for the search experience.

It's designed to understand natural language and generate human-like responses, making search results more accurate and relevant.

This technology uses a massive dataset to learn patterns and relationships between words, allowing it to predict what users are looking for.

Google's Generative AI Key can also complete sentences and paragraphs, making it easier to find the information you need.

One of the key benefits of this technology is its ability to understand nuances and context, reducing the risk of misinterpretation.

Generative App Builder also grants developers the ability to add business logic when building the chatbot through a logic graph that relates how states and tasks relate to each other.

Here are the key features of Generative App Builder:

Additionally, Vertex AI offers a variety of generative AI foundation models that are accessible through a managed API, including Google models, open models, and models from Google partners in Model Garden.

Foundation Models

Google's foundation models are a key part of their generative AI technology. These models can be accessed through a managed API, and they come in various sizes, modalities, and costs.

You can explore Google models, as well as open models and models from Google partners, in Model Garden. This is a great way to get a sense of the different options available.

One of the most interesting things about Google's foundation models is that they can be customized to generate specific results. This is done through a process called model tuning, which can help reduce the cost and latency of your requests.

Model tuning allows you to simplify your prompts, making it easier to get the results you want. It's a powerful tool that can help you get the most out of Google's generative AI.

Here are some of the key benefits of using Google's foundation models:

  • Access to a variety of models through a managed API
  • Models come in different sizes, modalities, and costs
  • Customization options through model tuning
  • Model evaluation tools to help you optimize your model

By using Google's foundation models and model tuning, you can create more efficient and effective generative AI solutions.

Improving Search with generative AI takes the heavy lifting out of searching, allowing you to understand a topic faster and get things done more easily.

With generative AI, Search can now provide an AI-powered snapshot of key information to consider, with links to dig deeper into a topic. This can be a huge time-saver, especially for complex questions.

You'll see suggested next steps, including the ability to ask follow-up questions, like "How long to spend at Bryce Canyon with kids?" These questions can be asked in a conversational mode, where you can ask Google more about the topic you're exploring.

Context will be carried over from question to question, helping you more naturally continue your exploration. This means you won't have to start from scratch each time you ask a follow-up question.

API Key

To use Weaviate, you need to provide an API key at runtime.

The API key is provided through a specific header, which depends on your user type. For Vertex AI users, the header is X-Google-Vertex-Api-Key.

Starting from Weaviate v1.25.1, Vertex AI users can use this header. Prior to this version, the header was X-Google-Api-Key.

AI Studio users have a separate header, X-Google-Studio-Api-Key, available from Weaviate v1.25.1.

Responsible

Google's Generative AI Key is designed to be responsible, with a focus on transparency and control.

The key is built with a modular architecture, allowing developers to easily swap out components and customize the model to their needs.

This level of control is crucial for ensuring that the AI is used in a way that is fair and unbiased.

Google's Generative AI Key also includes a robust set of safety features, such as the ability to detect and prevent the generation of harmful or offensive content.

These safety features are a key part of the key's responsible design, and are essential for preventing the AI from being used in ways that could cause harm.

By providing developers with the tools and resources they need to build responsible AI systems, Google's Generative AI Key is helping to promote a safer and more trustworthy AI ecosystem.

Getting Started with Google Generative AI

Google Generative AI is a powerful tool that can transform how businesses operate. Generative App Builder allows developers to create conversational and search experiences with no code.

You can start building with Generative App Builder by using out-of-the-box solutions for search and conversational experiences. This means you can create human-like interactions that can handle common tasks such as authenticating users, checking order status, and making payments.

To get started, you'll need to access Google Cloud's Vertex AI platform, which integrates with Generative App Builder. This platform provides a secure and production-ready environment for developing and deploying your models.

With Vertex AI, you can leverage the power of GenAI on Google's end-to-end Machine Learning platform. This means you can create state-of-the-art models and integrate them with enterprise security and deployment support.

Generative App Builder provides granular control over generated responses, allowing you to edit the outputs provided by the model to maximize its value. You can also add business logic when building the chatbot through a logic graph that relates how states and tasks relate to each other.

Here are some key features to keep in mind when getting started with Generative App Builder:

  • Out-of-the-box solutions for search and conversational experiences
  • Human-like interactions that can handle common tasks
  • Access to Google Cloud's Vertex AI platform
  • Secure and production-ready environment for developing and deploying models
  • Granular control over generated responses
  • Ability to add business logic through a logic graph

Vertex AI

Vertex AI is a powerful platform that enables developers to leverage generative AI on Google's end-to-end Machine Learning platform. You can save your Google Vertex AI credentials and have Weaviate generate the necessary tokens for you, enabling the use of IAM service accounts in private deployments that can hold Google credentials.

To do so, you need to set the USE_GOOGLE_AUTH environment variable to true and have the credentials available in one of the following locations: a JSON file whose path is specified by the GOOGLE_APPLICATION_CREDENTIALS environment variable, a JSON file in a location known to the gcloud command-line tool, or on Google App Engine standard first generation runtimes.

Credit: youtube.com, What is Vertex AI?

You can mount the credentials file to the container in a containerized environment, for example, by mounting the credentials file to the /etc/weaviate/ directory and setting the GOOGLE_APPLICATION_CREDENTIALS environment variable to /etc/weaviate/google_credentials.json. This allows you to use IAM service accounts in private deployments.

Google Cloud's OAuth 2.0 access tokens have a lifetime of 1 hour by default, but you can create tokens that last up to 12 hours. To create longer lasting tokens, follow the instructions in the Google Cloud IAM Guide.

You must periodically replace the token with a new one, as the OAuth token is only valid for a limited time. After you generate the new token, you have to re-instantiate your Weaviate client to use it. You can update the OAuth token manually or automate the process.

Here are some automation options:

  • Write a script to periodically update the token and extract the results using the Google Cloud CLI.
  • Use Python code to extract the token, as shown in the example code.

This will allow you to securely develop and deploy your models in production-ready environments, integrating the enterprise security and deployment support inherent to Google Cloud.
